Christmas!! (and my 100th post:)

My broken watch

OMG tomorrow is Christmas!! I'm so excited!! Not only has the world not ended, but this is my 100th post (in case some people haven't been keeping count). What I want for Christmas most is a new watch because my old one broke, it's stuck on alarm mode. 2 of the buttons broke so I can only set hour long timers. I probably won't post for the rest of the year because it will be the holidays so I guess I can say Merry Christmas and Trololololololol!!

The hobbit blog!!

Last day!!

Tomorrow is the last day of school!! No more school for a whole month. I'm going to America for most of it, we're staying in a motel near siesta key and I'm going to go to eat lots of yummy food!! We're also having house carols and we're going to sing a special song for our principal cause shes leaving. Hope everything goes well!! I'll probably keep posting but on a different time schedule.

Wreck-it Ralph!!

Today I watched the new movie, Wreck-it Ralph which came out yesterday. It's about this guy named Ralph who is the bad guy in his video game who doesn't like it so he leaves it and the rest of the movie is about his incredible journey to find a medal. I would rate it 4 and a half stars.

I've worked on Dan city some more, I've made a library, a warehouse, a school, a stadium, a blacksmiths house, a zoo, a diner, and a small neighborhood. What you can achieve when you work hard is amazing!! Next I'm going to build a pool.

Big Day Out

Today we were at our big day out which is basically 1 day per year where the whole school goes on a big day out, but we're not allowed to know where we're going til we get there, they just tell us what to bring. This year we were at a nature reserve [not the greatest] but we played a really awesome game.  You play by sitting in a circle and close your eyes and someone goes around and taps 5-6 people who look up and they are the betrayers and they go around killing the innocent and the innocent try to find out who the betrayers are. You kill someone by putting both your hands on a person. When someone is dead they sit out. The betrayers job is to kill all the innocent without them finding out that they are the betrayers. The game ends when all the innocent are dead or all the betrayers are dead. Its really fun!!

Secret santa

Secret santa time and you know what that means!! Presents!! The way secret santa works is that you pick a name out of a hat and you get them a present without them knowing who it is!! And then someone gets you!! Just saying for the person who got me anything yummy I can eat will be the perfect secret santa gift for me!! Bye!!

The talent quest is over...

Well the talent quest is over and yes my sister won for her year group (big surprise) and a bunch of girls did an awesome gangnam style thing which should have won but they came second to two sisters singing. I might juggle next year again (wink wink smiley face:)

Talent quest fail

Well it turns out only 2 of the judges liked our act so we didn't make the cut :( but I hope my sister does well (shes doing gym) and really she is one of the most talented people in the school (besides me cause I can juggle) :). She said shes really nervous but I think she will do well.

Passion project is finished

My passion project was geography and I think I achieved quite alot in the terms of learning countries around the world I actually believe it or not learned stuff. Now I know most of the countries in Europe. All in all I think my passion project went very well because I had time to learn at home and at school and I had no reason to change. If we were to do the same thing next year I think we wuld need more time to actually do it than just an hour on Fridays.

Last game!!

This is our last school basketball game for this year with my team cause some of them are going to Raroa :( next year so we might get some new players then. I'm going to probably mess around alot cause this game isn't that important. I have to get ready to play for the St. Benedict Chargers now, soooooooo bye!!

A bit of a fail.......

Today was the day when we were meant to present our Colosseum but it kinda failed because no one would listen to us and we kinda had a bit of trouble with the LAN which allows other people to join you're world. But I managed to get into the other minecraft presentation in the other class. Everybody wanted was hunting me down, fun!!!! :D

The Colosseum on Minecraft!!

This week we had to get with a group of 4-6 people and think of an awesome activity for the class to do, and my group decided to make the Colosseum, on MINECRAFT!! Matthew isworking on it a bit at home just to start it, but now he's brought it to school so all our group can work on it. I have to admit it going to be pretty epic when it's done. When were done the whole class is going to have battles on it like gladiators, last one alive wins!!

Speeches are over! [And I survived...]

Speeches are finally over, and I went complete last!! We were picking names out of a hat, so technically.... I survived the reaping!! So anyway, what I think was good about my sppech was that even though I was nervous, I didnt break down and overall I think I did really well. I captured the audience's [my classes] attention and I didn't forget my lines. Even though I did well I kinda got a bit sidetracked, so like when someone said something about what I just said, I would respond, saying something that wasn't on my cue cards, thus I am not a finallist [which is good]. So even though my speech was good, it could not beat Thomas's or P.J.'s and definatlly not Peta [who forgot her cue cards]. Even though none of the people I just mentioned or me made it in to the finals, we still were pretty epic.

Cricket

We had our first cricket game on Saturday, and we won!! It's a pretty big feat considering we lost every single game last year, one of them by 1 run!! I made an amazing catch on the boundary, which is like 25 metres away from the hitter, who unfortunately got out. I've got a new nickname on my team, they call me 'soft hands'.

Me and Math

At the moment, 5 things I am strong in for math working form multiplication and division, fractions, ratios, graphs and area. 2 things I need to work on are volume and angles. How do I make sure I get the exact right angle when I measure it? How do you get the volume of a 3D image?

The hobbit!!

The hobbit is an awesome book written by J.R.R Tolkien that was written on the 21st of September, 1937 and it's finally being made into a movie. And it was filmed right here in New Zealand!!! It's going to be coming out on the 28 November in New Zealand. Who's in the movie? Well there are the dwarfs- Fili and Kili, Oin and Gloin, Dwalin and Balin, Bifur Bofur and Bombur, Dori Nori and Ori, and Thorin. The Hobbit- Bilbo Baggins. And the Wizard- Gandalf, who go on a quest to avenge Thorin's dead Grandfathers village. So if you want to see Peter Jackson's newest movie, watch the hobbit, today!! [Or whenever it comes out]?

We are studying ancient Rome at the moment. It's fun, I guess, I mean, it's not like ancient Rome was the biggest empire in ancient times. It's also not like it played a gigantic part in the modern world today, right?

Hey guys, I decided to show you my awesome house, and believe it or not, it only took one day to make, on survival!! As you can tell, my room is on the second floor because the base is wood. and the base of the other two is stone. With complimentary cake!!!!

What I learned this week

This week I learnt all of American states, all 50 of them, off by heart!! There's Alabama, Utah, New Mexico, West Virginia etc. I won't name all of them 'cause that'll take forever. I learnt them by doing it continuously on sporcle and I got them to stick into my mind by doing the same quiz over and over and over again until I had memorised all of them. It was quite simple actually. I bet you could do it if you tried. If you could go to any state, what would it be?

Holidays!!!!!!!!!

For my holidays I went to a tennis camp for the first week. It was fun because I was the oldest one there so I totally owned everybody. We mostly played games like king of the court and stuff like that. It was rained off on Thursday. I also made brownies, MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YUM!!!!!!

On the second week we took a ferry down south to Picton [which is actually north of Wellington] then drove on to Methven to go skiing. We stopped at Christchurch to see our cousins [who had to move houses because theirs was destroyed in the earthquake] and at Hanmer Springs where we went to the pool and spa and where we spent the night. We skied at Mt. Hutt [which closed last week] for 2 out of the 3 days. I had a private lesson with this guy named Jonno and also just free skiing. If you ever do go there, I recommend the chicken burger. BEST BURGER EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh yeah, I also heard a crappy joke: what is a polar bear's favorite snack? A brrrrrrr grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!

Passion Project

For my passion project at school I am doing geography. I really want to learn more about countries and their cities and their flags because at the moment I know little to zero at the moment. I am also hoping that I can create a new quiz on sporcle [this website] on geography. My main goal is be able to know all the flags and not ask other people "what flag is that?" because at the moment I suck at flags.

Just got back from skiing. It was really fun. I Learned lots of stuff like how to turn properly and stuff like that. But now school has started and I'm kinda bummed because everything was so easy during break and I'm not used to having to do so much work.

Hanmer Springs

Awesome minecraft world seed

Hey, just for fun, I thought I'd give you this awesome world seed for minecraft. For anyone who has a minecraft account, just click create new world, then click more world options [or something like that] and type in -1501881007 for an awesome world with 2 jungle temples, an awesome mountain, and a dessert temple. Make sure you start the world on creative, and click allow cheats on because when you get to the temples and such, if you press T while you're playing, a bar will apear at the bottom of the screen, when you see it, type in:
 /gamemode survival
and you'll be on survival, it'll say you're game mode has been changed. Vice-versa:
/gamemode creative
and you'll be on creative again. If you press F3 while playing, a bunch of random letters and numbers will pop up. You'll also notice X Y and Z on the side, change the gamemode [if on survival] to creative, and follow these co-ordinates:

My recent artwork

Recently, I made this this piece of artwork at school for art [well duh, what, other subject would we draw art in, science?] I made it using printing [the birds] and paint [the backround]. If you don't know what printing is, just look it up on the INTERNET!! What I really like about this artwork is that it looks good and it only took me an hour to make [including letting the paint dry]. Well thats about it for now, see ya later.

I recently finished the book DOT. RoBoT, and I have to say it was actually quite good. It was written by Jason Bradbury in 2009 and it has a little autobiography about him in the front of the book. DOT. A new season has begun...

Cricket awesomeness!!

Soccer season has finished and cricket season has [nearly] begun. I not sure what I feel though. Cricket isn't my favourite sport but I guess it's O.K.Sometimes I like it and sometimes I don't. I can't wait until the newest Percy Jackson book comes out, I have been waiting forever for it and it still hasn't come. I also want to read the next book of Michael Vey, and the 39 clues books as well [I get interested in a lot of books] My favourite is Percy Jackson, though. Fathers Day

We just had fathers day here in New Zealand. In most other countries, they have it in June [which happens to be my birthmonth] but in New Zealand, we have it in September. We gave him breakfast in bed and a card [no surprises there]. We also had a nice brunch.

The production is over

The production is over, and I feel disappointed. First of all because it was fun, and I got to juggle in front of everyone, and secondly, everything is back to normal, and normal isn't that fun, it's mostly just work, and work isn't fun. I also think all of our dances went really well [all three of them], especially the one I got to juggle in. The acting was great, too, with only minor hesitations. Over all, it was a great production.

Tech

This term for tech, I am doing cooking, which is the funnest because you get to eat what you make every week. Tech is a series of 5 groups, [in order] electronics, woodwork, sowing, cooking and film making. You get 8 weeks for each session, for all the sessions except cooking, you spend all 8 weeks making one thing, but in cooking, you get to eat something every week. recently, we made fruit crumble, mmmmm..... yummm....

I just got the most valuable player in my soccer team award, so now I feel better now, I was really anxious because I thought I might not get it.

Down in the dumps [literally]

Our last soccer game of the season sucked, not only because we lost, but the field was rubbish. It was really muddy, the ground was uneven, the grass was long and wavy and it smelled like manure. We played really well though, and we had a lot of bad luck, on a better pitch, we would've won. And it was weird, because we beat that same team the first game of the season 2-0, and this time we lost to that team the last game of the season 2-0 to them. I've also come down with a bit of a cold, and I got a haircut, now my hair is really short, considering my last haircut was 5 months ago.

This is not me.

 I'm going to to swimming sports on Thursday and to tell the truth, I'm not that excited. The water's probably going to be freezing, and I'm not that good of a swimmer. In my class, I came 3rd out of 6. But I guess it's good thatI made it to the northern zones.

Olympic medal results

This is the result chart, and New Zealand came 15th!! 6 gold medals, 2 silver and 5 bronze!!

Production 2

Hey guys, remember the production? Well now, it's only a week away and I have to practise my juggling skills and the fight scene that I'm in. It's a sword fight, good versus evil [I'm evil] and I get an awesome curved blade that is totally epic. I hope our production goes well, fingers crossed!!

Root beer!!

ROOT BEER!!

Ever heard of Sprechers? If you haven't, then, you suck!! [Just kidding]. But seriously though, Sprecher makes like, only the best soft drinks ever!! My favourites are Cherry Cola, Cream Soda, and ROOT BEER!! Anyone who doesn't like root beer, probably hasn't tasted it. Unfortunately, Sprechers Root Beer is only made in Wisconsin, so it isn't that popular in New Zealand, but still, ROOT BEER!!

Bloody good football!!

On Saturday, the 4th of August, we totally smashed up the other mates  in our football game, 5-0!!
It was our best game of the season. Before, our tally on the scoreboard was 6 scored, 9 against, but now, it's 11 scored, 9 against. It really put us back in the table.

100!!

Yesterday, NZ got their 100th all time medal in the Olympics!! Duo Peter Burling and Blair Tuke won silver  last night for sailing on the 8th of August, which got us our 100th medal!! I am very proud of our country.

Olympics

New Zealand is doing quite well in the Olympics, but Valerie Adams could have done better, and Nick Willis could have come in a better place, but on the bright side, Mahe Drysdale got a gold in rowing for us. I really hope we make it to our 100 medal goal, too. But other than that, we're doing pretty well.

Archery

My favorite thing to watch in the Olympics is archery because it is so exciting to watch people shoot arrows [which you can also do on minecraft] and see how well they do.
I don't know how to shoot an arrow [except on minecraft] but I would really love to learn, like Katniss.

I haven't really been watching archery before the Olympics, though.

Gold!!

If you watched the Olympics yesterday, you would know that New Zealand won their first gold medal in the Olympics!! Nathan Cohen and Joseph Sullivan were in 5th place for rowing in the last 500 metres when we pulled ahead and took the gold!! It was awesome [even though I didn't see it].

I love New Zealand!! It's so pretty and where I live, everything is so close. I can practically walk to school [which, ironically, I do] The only bad thing is the weather, that's why were called "wild wet windy Wellington".

Production

Our St.benedicts school production is approching fast [so fast in fact, our teacher is getting worried] LOL!! A production is sort of like a play, but the whole school is involved. I'm the juggler [cause I can juggle] and my friend Daniel [were both named Daniel, how ironic] is the clown.

Minecraft 2

My current obsession is minecraft[obviously] because it's totes the coolest game ever. It is so cool because you can do anything on it, including fighting monsters and enchanting items. You can also build anything. Whats your current obsession?

P.S.- Paul Soars Jr has made some videos about it, what he doesn't tell you is that on options, you can turn Minecraft onto peaceful mode and monsters won't attack you.

Soccer match

On Saturday I had a football [soccer] game. It was amazing!! We were tied 2 all with about a minute left in the game when the ball came to me and I totally toe-hacked it over the goalie's head!! I was midfield and that goal won us the game 3-2!!I am very proud of myself.

O.K., so our first 2 games were good, but now, not so good. Really, we've only won against Queen Margrets [no offence], and once, we lost 82-2!! So we kinda suck now LOL!  Today, we lost 38-6 to Newlands LOL!

America

In the holidays, I went to America [Wisconsin, to be exact] and we visited my grandparents in their condo. We stayed there and did a bunch of fun things like buying me presents, playing around outside, getting a tan, going to restaurants that aren't in New Zealand and playing Ticket to Ride. We even went to the lake house [that we swam in] walked on rocks, and even took a cruise on the Mississippi River!

Sally stepped outside, and breathed in the fresh air. It was a beautiful Saturday morning, and Sally couldn’t be any happier than she was now. She was going to get her first hamster, and her birthday was in one week. She practically skipped to the library.

“Good morning Sally,” said Mr. Jenkins, “how are you today?”

Mr. Jenkins had taken over for Mr. Linden after he died of mysterious circumstances just a few months ago. In his memory, Mr. Jenkins had kept the name of the library the same.

“Good thanks,” Sally said as she skipped off.

“And remember, stay away from section Z!” he called after her.

But there was one other reason she was so happy. For the past few days, she had formulated a plan to get a book out of section Z. Her curiosity was eating her up from the inside out. As quiet as a mouse, she creped over to the section Z door, and she tried the handle. Locked. She glanced behind her, fumbling with her lock pick. Finally she got the door open and snuck inside quietly closing the door behind her.

It was dark. Really dark. Sally groped around for a light switch, found one, and turned it on. She looked around, and gasped. There were paper shreds everywhere, and only one book, like the lone survivor. Carefully, she picked it up, but just lay there, silent and still, which somehow made it even more creepy. Sally turned around, and there it was! A very convenient back door. Sally went toward it and finding it was unlocked went outside, shut the door behind her, and sprinted back home. What she didn’t know was that there was no back door, there never was, and there never has been. When she shut it, it just disappeared. Vanished into thin air.

Later that night, Sally got her first good look at the book. But what was there to look at? There was no title, no author, no nothing. Just a blank cover. Suddenly, Sally didn’t want the book anymore, she had a bad feeling about it.

 She looked at Hammy, her hamster, he was roaming around his cage, staring at her bedroom. Everything was new to him, from pet shop to bedroom, everything surprised him. Sally looked at the book again, and she knew that if she didn’t read it, her curiosity would never let her live it down. Sally Carman, scared of a book. Not a good self description. She took a deep breath and opened the book.

 Suddenly, thousands of vines shot of the book and wrapped around Sally’s neck. She tried to scream but she couldn’t breathe. In the last moments of her life, she looked at Hammy, whose eyes were like shining stars, and smiled. As the vines retracted back into the book, two giant words, in bold print, were written on the page- THE END.
